Johnny grabbed the “45” and placed it on the turntable. Mae had Great Expectations when it came to the soundtrack to a summer party. It was an old place, full of Boomboxes and Dictionaries, but the record player set the mood just right.

“We Came To Dance!” shouted Joe as he stumbled in, 6 pack in tow.

“Dance all night, but don’t Get Hurt!” yelled Mae from the kitchen.

Joe grabbed her with a quick spin and dip. “It’s the 59 Sound, dance with me, I’ll take the memory as a Keepsake.”

“Better quit clutching on me like that Joe, Here Comes My Man”

“Ain’t That A Shame…” he whispered as she stepped away.

“Been writing those Selected Poems again Joe?” Johnny asked as he kissed Mae on the forehead in that tender way old lovers do.

“Every word Handwritten…” He replied.

“Well, I’ll be damned. Stay Vicious kid, there’s Too Much Blood on those pages. Writing about that mystery girl is only gonna Break Your Heart.”
